Friends and Needles Quilt Guild  - 30 Years and Counting

APRIL PRESIDENT’S NEWSLETTER

Our next Guild Meeting is Tuesday evening April 7th, 6:30pm, at HRH.

Karen and Tammy will be hosting this meeting.

Coming up at our April meeting we will talk about a couple issues that many quilters struggle with.

Karen Gallop will demonstrate how to end your binding for a smooth finish to your quilt.  There are many methods of doing this but Karen will show her tried and true method that works for her every time.

Tammy Ritchie will demonstrate how to put a zipper in a purse or little catch-all bag.  So many people are afraid of zippers but she will show you how easy it really is to have that professional look.

Demonstrations will follow the business meeting.

What I really want to share in this newsletter:   A Great Big Thank You, thank you, thank you for attending the Friday evening Trunk Show featuring Dan & Carol Perkins from Threads Galore.  The evening was filled with a wide variety of colors, patterns, projects and quilting that was truly inspiring.  Carol and Dan had a great time and hope to do more with us in the future.  Carol is anxiously waiting for pictures of completed projects.

Another online tidbit:   www.quiltcorneronline.com  is offering a Women of the Bible pattern series.  It is a free program consisting of 41 weeks of block patterns with a historical reference to women in the bible.

Reminders:

May meeting is "County Comfort " quilts and reveal of 2015 Raffle Quilt.

June meeting is Potluck Dinner at Houlton Community Golf Clubhouse.

BOM / HST quilts and Secret Sisters will be revealed.

Where is the evidence of Spring?
