Happy Spring Everyone,
April Meeting - April 1, 6:30 at HRH
Please come to our Guild meeting held on April 1st at 6:30 at the Houlton Regional Hospital Community Room. After a short business meeting, we will be sharing three techniques for how to sew curves along with a few surprises. Link to Agenda Here
Round Robin Row Quilt - bring your boxes for the exchange. If you are not able to make the meeting, please let Tricia know and she will accommodate the exchange. The rows I have seen so far are full of creativity and talent. Everyone will be amazed when they get their boxes back.
Fat Quarter raffle is spring like fabrics - either in colors or prints. If Mother Nature won't bring spring to the County, we will bring our own.
May Meeting - May 6 at 6:30 at HRH
May Guild meeting will have lots of fun as well. We will be drawing for the County Comfort Quilt Sewing Machine raffle. Each member who contributes a quilt for the cupboard will receive a raffle ticket towards winning the sewing machine. We would like the quilt sizes to be approximately 45" X 60" (crib size) on up to 60" x 72" (lap size). Anything smaller and we have a hard time handing them out to the hospital and to the community.
Also at the May meeting is the reveal of the Ugly Fabric Contest. Last September many of you participated in the ugly fabric exchange. If you choose to further participate, you were to make a quilted item from the ugly fabric showcasing each parts of the all ugly fabrics in the quilted item. Please bring your item to share with the Guild members at our meeting. Even if you have not finished it, all quilt tops are welcome for the reveal. Items made for this contest will not be exchanged with other guild members; they will go home with you.
June Meeting - Date to be announced
June meeting is the Secret Sister Reveal. This year has been fun as we have sent messages and gifts of whimsy to our Secret Sisters to let them know we are thinking of them. At our June meeting we will reveal who are Secret Sister is and what we have learned about them during the year.
Also at the June meeting, the owners of the Round Robin Row Quilt will have their boxes returned to them. At the September meeting, the owners can reveal their Round Robin Row Quilts after they have had time to assemble the tops during the summer.
Nominate New Officers for 2014/2015 Friends and Needle Quilt Guild
Another piece of business, at our last meeting the present Executive Officers announced their retirement at the end of this year. The present Officers have collectively served over 13 years as Officers in the Guild. Your Guild needs your help to continue to be a strong, vibrant organization. Please be thinking of who you would like to nominate to be President, Vice President (optional), Treasurer and Secretary for next year. Attached is a Quilt Guild Participation Survey - please fill it out and mail it to Kim Hazlett at PO BOX 72, New Limerick, ME 04761 or bring it to the next Guild Meeting. We will be announcing the nominated officers and vote on them at the June meeting.
How does the Quilt Guild run - with lots of members involved and committee Chairpersons. This year has been running smoothly with the individuals involved making it look easy. A huge thank you to the following Chairpersons:

Please give consideration to being a part of this fantastic organization! PLEASE fill out the attached survey and return it to Kim.
See you April 1st
Kim, Pam, Tricia and Carmel
